PrintUsage Pro is a management system designed with one main purpose: to reduce the cost involved in running and maintaining a fleet of printers. Without properly managed users and printers, these costs can easily get out of control. To help with this problem, a quota scheme can be implemented to charge users for their printing. Advanced features of the PrintUsage Pro quota management system allow charging color/mono print jobs at different rates, as well as charging more for larger paper sizes. Various methods of implementing this quota scheme are supported by PrintUsage Pro: A quota system that does not allow users to print anything that exceeds their quota or an implementation that renews the quota automatically after a given length of time, allowing a user to print up to a certain amount every day, week, month, or year. The extensive reporting feature of PrintUsage Pro provides a different approach to charging users for their printing. These features allow the administrator to generate an invoice for a user or a department that details how much they have printed in a month, along with the total cost. All of these methods help to manage the cost of printing and prevent countless trees from being needlessly consumed.


Aimed at organizations both large and small, the Enterprise features included with this version of PrintUsage Pro provide the information security and rock-solid stability ensures seamless integration with existing systems. This version supports capturing every printed document that passes through the system, a useful feature that allows past print jobs to be reviewed or re-sent to the printer. These document files are automatically compressed by PrintUsage Pro to reduce the amount of disk space that they consume.

Product Highlights
Entirely web-based management allows the network administrator to control the settings of the system from anywhere with a web browser. The print server is only supported on Windows, but will manage the print jobs sent from any operating system. The cost of printing from different printers can either be inherited from the print server for easy installation or be set individually for greater flexibility. Extensive reporting features that make it simple to generate all types of reports. Synchronizes the user accounts from an Active Directory or an LDAP server PrintUsage Pro is highly scaleable: an unrestricted number of users can connect to an unrestricted number of servers and printers. A customizable notification service notifies users when their job has been printed or if it has failed to print for any reason. Users can view their print history and remaining balance without requesting the administrator for a report.
