PrintUsage Pro provides two authorization modes that can be implemented using the configuration wizard either during the installation process or post-installation through the start-menu application.
Authorization by username: If using a Windows domain environment, the username of the document owner is included with the printing request. PrintUsage can read this user data and manage the print job based on this information.
Authorization by computer name: If the network environment is implemented as a general peer-to-peer network, PrintUsage can only recognize the computer name where the job has been sent. With this authorization mode, the computer name is then used in place of a document owner’s username.
