How can I choose the user authorization mode?
- PrintUsage Pro provides two authorization modes that can be implemented using the configuration wizard either during the installation process or post-installation through the start-menu application.
- Authorization by username: If using a Windows domain environment, the username of the document owner is included with the printing request. PrintUsage can read this user data and manage the print job based on this information.
- Authorization by computer name: If the network environment is implemented as a general peer-to-peer network, PrintUsage can only recognize the computer name where the job has been sent. With this authorization mode, the computer name is then used in place of a document owner’s username.
